Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of One Research Associate-II (RA-II) in the Gates foundation funded project entitled “Development of climate resilient brassica by gene editing”, under the supervision of Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist, NIPGR.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The Fellowship/emolument amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be extended or curtailed on the basis of the assessment of the Candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. NIPGR reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found suitable/well qualified by the Selection Committee. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
Money
Emoluments: ₹ 61,000/- plus 27% HRA per month as per norms and as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification
Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Plant Science/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics or equivalent from a recognized university or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number: DST/PCPM/Z‑06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 are eligible to apply.
Experience
Desirable: Candidates having research experience in the area of Molecular Biology, Gene Function analysis, Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics, Metabolomics, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Computational Analysis of Multiomics Data and Crop Genetic Improvement and gene-editing, with at least one first author publication will be preferred.
